On Saturday March 3, 2007, Martin Tétreault will take part in the musical evening “of the new, touch-all and unbridled civilization.” The concert Les (nouvelles) boîtes de Pandore will be presented as part of the festival Montréal / Nouvelles musiques at Société des arts technologiques. Listen to a cosmic excerpt of his recent album Snipettes!.

Snipettes! and Morceaux choisis were first released in 1992 as a limited-edition cassette, in a run of 250 numbered copies. This new CD is the result of an ideal collaboration between two record players (an automatic Garrard and a belt-driven Thorens) and presents playing performances of two invisible orchestras, formed by the sounds from Eddie Osborne’s album Baldwin Organ & Bongos and from contemporary music and musique concrète CDs. Snipettes! is a wonderful musical fantasy we rarely get the chance to witness, either on stage or en record.

The last release of Joane Hétu, Nouvelle musique d’hiver, which you may want to listen to while watching a bonfire, is a real audio documentary about winter constructed in four sections: Joyeux temps, Être dans le vent, La marmotte, and Calcium sloche. You will hear the musicians of the Ensemble SuperMusique (Jean Derome, Guillaume Dostaler, Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse, Pierre Tanguay), Lori Freedman, Martin Tétreault, and Gilles Derome in thrilling improvisations.

Michel F Côté and Martin Tétreault are some of the artists invited at the Mois Multi event in Québec City. Amongst the different shows, you can see them perform in the “Cabaret Audio” series of live sound explorations on February 9 to 24, 2007. Percussionist, composer and inveterate inventor, Pierre Tanguay will be at the Théâtre La Chapelle on February 2, 2007 at 8:30 pm with his friends Lou Babin, Diane Labrosse, Luc Proulx, and Martin Tétreault. He will be back the next day, February 3, with Geneviève Letarte, Monsieur Bricole, and the Fanfare Pourpour!
