The Normand Guilbeault Ensemble will be in Montréal and Québec City to launch its 3rd disc tribute to Charles Mingus: Live at Upstairs 2008. The concerts will be on:

• May 1-2, 2009 at Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, Montréal
• May 6-7 at Largo Resto-Club, Québec

The next Mercredimusics will feature Jean Derome, Frank Martel and Danielle Palardy Roger on April 15, 2009, at Casa Obscura in Montréal.

The Ensemble Transmission ensemble (Lori Freedman, D’Arcy Philip Gray, Clemens Merkel, Guy Pelletier, Brigitte Poulin, Julie Trudeau) will be in concert in Montréal on April 16, 2009, at Maison de la culture Côte-des-Neiges. On the programme, works by Rihm, Harvey, Crumb, Villa-Lobos et Lizée.

Malcolm Goldstein and Rainer Wiens, as well as Joshua Zubot, Jean René and Rémy Bélanger de Beauport will be at Le Cagibi on Tuesday April 14, 2009, as part of the Mardi spaghetti weekly series for creative music, now in its second year.

Bomata, featuring double bassist Jean Félix Mailloux, clarinettist Guillaume Bourque and percussionistZiya Tabassian, will be in concert on April 8, 2009, at House of Jazz in Montréal. Listen to excerpts from their latest recording on Malasartes musique!
