Le mensonge et l’identité by Jean Derome and Joane Hétu will be presented on June 3, 2008 at La Sala Rossa, in Montréal, as part of the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival. The piece, commissioned by the Bozzini Quartet and the Deutschlandfunk, has been premiered last April during the Forum Neue Musik in Cologne. Furthermore, on concert programme, two pieces by composer and violonist Malcolm Goldstein.

Bernard Falaise and Jean Martin will take part in the Re:flux Festival of Music and Sound Art as part of the Barnyard Drama event on May 30, 2008 at Centre culturel Aberdeen in Moncton (New Brunswick, Canada).

The 6th edition of the Rencontres de musiques spontanées will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2008 at Paradis in Rimouski (Québec). Notably on programme: the comic strip and music trio with Robert Marcel Lepage (clarinets, cartoon), Pierre-Yves Martel (doublebass, cartoon), Éric Normand (percussion, cartoon). Robert Marcel Lepage will also conduct the grand ensemble that will present to the public a series of improvised music resulting of a 2-day workshop.

The Duo Frances-Marie Uitti + Lori Freedman will be in concert at SoundaXis Festival on May 31, 2008 at the Music Gallery in Toronto (Ontario). It is a concert of improvised and written contemporary works, solo and duo, for cello and clarinet by composers Saariaho, Dusapin, Scelsi, Aperghis, Xenakis, Cage, Brown and Lindberg.

The Normand Guilbeault Ensemble will be at Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, in Montréal, on May 30-31, 2008 for the live recording of its 3rd album, a tribute to Charles Mingus, with special guests Karen Young, and Normand Deveault.
