On June 26-30, 2008 and July 2, Jean Derome and his guests will improvise on a selection of silent movies at Cinémathèque québécoise as part of the FIJM. The last session programme, July 2: Devuska s korobkoj directed by Boris Barnet; guest musician François Bourassa.

The French magazine Revue & corrigée (#76, June 2008) has published an impelling article Pourquoi faites-vous des disques? (“Why do you make CDs?”). Jérôme Noetinger, remembering the 1987 Libération special issue asking “Why do you make films?” and the answer by Jean-Luc Godard (“I make movies to avoid the why question”), has decided to ask “the why question” to about 40 artists and producers, amongst whom: Jean-François Denis, Bertrand Denzler, Bernard Fort, Lionel Marchetti, Martin Tétreault, Carole Rieussec, Joëlle Léandre…

On June 29, 2008 (6:30 pm), the Damian Nisenson Quartet (Luzio Altobelli, Jean Félix Mailloux, Damián Nisenson, and Ziya Tabassian) will be in concert at the House of Jazz in Montréal. Then the Trio Jean Félix Mailloux (Arden Arapyan, Jean Félix Mailloux, Jonathan Racine-Ménard) will give 2 concerts on June 30 and July 1 (6 pm).

Quartetski (Gordon M Allen, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Philippe Lauzier, Pierre-Yves Martel) will be in concert at National Arts Centre Studio as part of the Ottawa International Jazz Festival on June 29, 2008.

On June 25, 2008 Philippe Lauzier, Pierre-Yves Martel, Thom Gossage, and Kim Myhr will be in concert at Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill in Montréal.

Michel F Côté, Kim Myhr, Erin Sexton, and Gmackrr will be at Le Cagibi on Tuesday June 17, 2008 as part of the Mardi spaghetti weekly series for creative music.
