    The 6th edition of the Rencontres de musiques spontanées will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2008 at Paradis in Rimouski (Québec). Notably on programme: the comic strip and music trio with Robert Marcel Lepage (clarinets, cartoon), Pierre-Yves Martel (doublebass, cartoon), Éric Normand (percussion, cartoon). Robert Marcel Lepage will also conduct the grand ensemble that will present to the public a series of improvised music resulting of a 2-day workshop.

    Here are some news from Robert Marcel Lepage who has many projects going on! Indeed, {nbio:lepage_ro} is actually working on the music of Voyage au bout de la torture documentary by Patricio Henriquez (with Pierre-Yves Martel et Isaiah Ceccarelli). He is preparing for Alain Trudel and the CBC Radio Orchestra the Costa Brava suite. Moreover, he his working on a sketch for the next Benoit Pilon’s long footage (Nestor et les oubliés) with a string section and the percussion of Ziya Tabassian. He is composing the music of the animated series Allez Raconte by Lewis Trondheim and José Parrondo (M6 chanel). His music for Senza Nostalgia documentary — for which Luzio Altobelli, Guillaume Bourque and Jean Félix Mailloux have contributed — is a Nominee to the Prix Gémeaux. Finally, the latest Bernard Emond’s movie, Contre toute espérance, playing on August 16, 2007, evolves on {nbio:lepage_ro}’s music for harp, string section, and clarinet.

    La Nef will present Carnets mouillés suite of Musique de Robinet by Robert Marcel Lepage on April 14, 2007 at the Maison de la culture Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (Montréal). You may enjoy Robert Marcel Lepage’s aquatic flights of fancy thanks to his music, texts, and animated drawings.
