Hubbub, the quintet of musicians Frédéric Blondy, Bertrand Denzler, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Jean-Sébastien Mariage and Edward Perraud, is beginning a North-American tour. The group will give live performances at the Festival des musiques de création in Jonquière (Québec) on May 20, 2005, at the Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville (Québec) on May 22, 2005, at the Victoriaville Toronto Overdrive (VTO) in Toronto (Ontario) on May 24, 2005, at the Artists-at-Large gallery in Hyde Park (Massachusetts) on May 25, 2005 for the Modern Improvised Music concert series, at the Flywheel diffusion space in Easthampton (Massachusetts) on May 26, 2005 and finally at the Deep Listening Space of the Pauline Oliveros Foundation in Kingston (New York) on May 27, 2005.

L’Ensemble Pierre Labbé, will be giving a series of concerts across Canada this summer. The group will play at Halifax’s Fever spring festival on May 13 and 14, 2005, at Moncton’s Aberdeen cultural Center on May 15, 2005, at the Vancouver Jazz Festival on June 25, 2005 and finally at Mcdonald Stewart Art Centre during the Guelph Jazz Festival on September 7, 2005.

Queen Mab, the trio of Marilyn Lerner (piano), Lori Freedman (clarinets) and Ig Henneman (viola), is having this summer a grand Canadian tour called Thin Air. Queen Mab will be live at Chicago’s Hothouse on May 11, 2005, at Portland’s Creative Music Guild on Mai 13, 2005, at Seattle’s 1412 Gallery on May 14, 2005, at the Festival des musiques de création de Jonquière (Québec) on May 19, 2005, at Toronto’s Distillery Jazz Festival on May 21, 2005, at the 5th Victoriaville Toronto Overdrive on May 24, 2005, at the Calgary Jazz Festival on June 20, 2005, at the Cool Winnipeg Jazz Festival on June 21, 2005, at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival on June 24 and 26, 2005, at the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival on June 29, 2005, at the Ottawa Jazz Festival on July 1, 2005, at Montréal’s Festival International Jazz on July 4, 2005, at Halifax’s Atlantic Jazz Festival on July 20, 2005 and at St. John’s Jazz Festival on July 21, 2005. The trio will then fly to Holland’s Zomer Jazz Fietstour at Groningen on August 27, 2005.

Les Poules travel to Russia! The trio of Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse and Danielle Palardy Roger will be in concert in Moscow on April 20, 2005 and in Saint Petersburg on April 22 and 24, 2005.

Following the release of their first album, Portrait Montréal, the Bozzini Quartet continues its concert series and will be playing in Montréal on April 7, 2005 at the Chapelle Saint-Louis, at Trois-Rivières’ Maison de la culture on April 21, 2005, back again in Montréal at La Chapelle on April 28 and 29, 2005 and lastly in Jonquière on May 21, 2005 for the Festival des musiques de création.
