  • September 6 – 10, 2006: DAME at the 13th Guelph Jazz Festival

    The Guelph Jazz Festival (Ontario) will take place from September 6 to 10, 2006. We will hear pianist Marilyn Lerner on September 6, and Robert Marcel Lepage will present his project Pee Wee et moi on September 7. Famed trumpet player Bill Dixon and double bass master Joëlle Léandre will share the stage on September 8. Alson, Lori Freedman will join the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble on September 9.

    June 11 – 22, 2006: DAME Musicians at the Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival, Montréal

    The Suoni Per Il Popolo festival is held in Montréal throughout the month of June and features concerts every evening at La Sala Rossa as well as at Casa del Popolo. This year you will hear, amongst others, the trio FReC (Lori Freedman, Danielle Palardy Roger and Nicolas Caloia) on June 11, 2006, the trio Klaxon Gueule and the Pierre-Yves Martel / Marianne Trudel duo on June 21 and also the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay on June 22.

    June 7 – 25, 2006: Freedman Concerts across Canada

    Clarinetist Lori Freedman will give many concerts across Canada in June. On June 7, 2006, she will be at the Gœthe Institute in Toronto with Marilyn Lerner for a Queen Mab concert. On June 9, she will join the New Music Concerts Ensemble for the interpretation of a Xenakis concerto at the Glenn Gould Studio (Toronto). On June 11, she will take part in the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival in Montréal with the band FReC (a trio with Nicolas Caloia and Danielle Palardy Roger). Then, on June 17, she will plays alongside Barry Guy for a concert of the Upstream Orchestra in Halifax. Finally, {nbio:freedman_lo} will end the month in Vancouver, playing with the Western Front Quartet on June 23 and with a solo performance at the Vancouver Jazz Festival on June 25.

    September 29 – October 21, 2005: Queen Mab’s tour continues en Europe

    Following a series of shows that took place this summer in Canada, Queen Mab, with Marilyn Lerner (piano), Lori Freedman (clarinets) and Ig Henneman (viola), brings their tour to Europe throughout Fall. Queen Mab will be performing on September 29, 2005 at Flora Theater in Delft, The Netherlands; on October 2, 2005 at Loft in Keulen, Germany; on October 3, 2005 at Overtoom 301 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; on October 4, 2005 at Zaal 100 in Amsterdam; on October 5, 2005 at Rote Fabrik in Zürich, Switzerland, on October 7, 2005 at Stiftung Musikkultur in St Johann in Tirol, Austria; on October 8, 2005 at Jazzgalerie, Nickelsdorf, Austria; on October 9, 2005 at Metelkova/Club Gromka in Ljubljana, Slovenia; on October 10, 2005 at the Student Centre, Zagreb, Croatia; on October 12, 2005 at Studio RAI RadioTre (live concert) of Rome in Italy, on October 14, 2005 at Iato il Cantiere in Rome; and on October 15 octobre, 2005 at Bleu Boeuf Toulon in Puget-Ville, France. The trio concludes this tour in The Netherlands: on October 20, 2005, Queen Mab will be at Studio Grasland in Haarlem and on October 21, at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam.

    September 7 – 11, 2005: 12th Annual Guelph Jazz Festival

    Many musicians and ensembles from the Ambiances Magnétiques label will take part in the 12th Guelph Jazz Festival (Ontario), to be held from September 7 — 11, 2005. Acts featured in this forthcoming edition include L’Ensemble Pierre Labbé on September 7; the trio of André Duchesne, Jean René and Pierre Tanguay as well as the Pierre Cartier Ensemble on September 8; Lori Freedman solo and the trio Évidence on September 9; and finally, the Fanfare Pourpour will parade through the city on September 10.
