The Mercredimusics are back: Jean Derome and his guests will be there on Wednesday, February 14, 2007. By the way, we invite you to listen to some great extracts of The Feeling of Jazz album on which Derome blows in his bari sax… mmh. Lori Freedman and her guests are the next ones to perform: the concert is scheduled a week later, on Wednesday February 21.

The last release of Joane Hétu, Nouvelle musique d’hiver, which you may want to listen to while watching a bonfire, is a real audio documentary about winter constructed in four sections: Joyeux temps, Être dans le vent, La marmotte, and Calcium sloche. You will hear the musicians of the Ensemble SuperMusique (Jean Derome, Guillaume Dostaler, Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse, Pierre Tanguay), Lori Freedman, Martin Tétreault, and Gilles Derome in thrilling improvisations.

FReC, formed by three boldly creative improvisers from Montréal — Lori Freedman, Danielle Palardy Roger, and Nicolas Caloia — will be in concert at the Maison de la culture Côtes-des-Neiges on February 8, 2007, and at the Maison de la culture du Plateau-Mont-Royal on February 14.

Many DAME artists will participate to the third Rencontres de musiques spontanées (RMS3), held in Rimouski (Québec) from December 1 — 3, 2006. On December 1, Catherine S Massicotte, Brigitte Lacasse and Éric Normand will present their project Minus 3 followed by Érick d’Orion and his latest audio creation Téléphonie cellulaire. On December 2 a second double feature will be presented, this time with Les gars trans (a band featuring Frank Martel, Robin Servant and Éric Normand) and Cabina obscura featuring John Blouin and Bernard Falaise. Sunday, December 3 will see the launch of a new CD, 10 situations précaires, by James Darling, Lori Freedman, Gabriel Dionne, and Diane Labrosse. The CD launch will be followed by a presentation of Khôra, a work by Jean-François Laporte interpreted by Martin Ouellet.

The CD launch of Lori Freedman’s new CD 3 will take place on October 3, 2006 from 5 to 7 pm at Cheval blanc (Montréal).
