Derek Bailey died on December 25, 2005 in London (UK) at the age of 75. Founder of the Incus record label, {nbio:bailey_de} helped shape improvised music with his idiosyncratic guitar playing and his passionate defense of free improv. In 2003, he collaborated with young guitar player Antoine Berthiaume on the CD Soshin.
