Inspired by his fascination for Ringo Starr, Martin Tétreault will present a drum solo with 4 turntables on June 2, 2006, part of the Mutek festival. Exceptionally joined by Alexander MacSween, his performance will be held at the Société des arts technologiques (Montréal).

The trio Les Poules will be the honored guests for the second edition of the Rencontres de musiques spontanées (RMS2), to be held in Rimouski from June 2 to 10, 2006. This will also be the occasion for the group P.O.W.E.R. to officially launch their album Tomahawk Territory.

Pierre Cartier will launch his new album, Chansons de la belle espérance, on June 25, 2006 at O Patro Vys during L’OFF Festival de Jazz de Montréal. {nbio:cartier_pi} will then travel with his new songs at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival on June 27, at the Yardbird Jazz Festival in Edmonton on July 1, at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival on July 2, and lastly at the Atlantic Jazz Festival in Halifax on July 19.

Today is a Special Day, by the contemporary jazz trio {nbio:lauzier_ph} {nbio:perkin_mi} {nbio:kuster_ro}, is the latest release on the Ambiances Magnétiques Jazz label and will be officially launched on May 11, 2006 at the Galerie B-312 (Montréal). The trio will also play at the Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill (Montréal) on May 21, at the Festival des musiques de création du Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean in Jonquière on May 26, at La Kémia (Montréal) on Saturday May 27 and finally at the Quai des Brumes (Montréal) on June 24, 2006 part of L’OFF Festival de Jazz de Montréal.

Martin Tétreault will play with Tim Olive at Divan orange (Montréal) on April 30, 2006. {nbio:tetreault_ma} will also take part in “Ze Psychotik Happening Project” held at La Sala Rossa (Montréal) on May 2.

Amongst the many artists invited at the 2006 Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville (FIMAV), we noticed the presence of Barnyard Drama on May 18, 2006, {nbio:berthiaume_an} {nbio:sirjacq_qu} {nbio:teale_no} trio on May 19, Pierre Cartier with his Chansons de la belle espérance as well as duet Et Sans on May 22.
