The 7th edition of the Rencontres de musiques spontanées will take place on November 27 and 28, 2008 at Paradis in Rimouski (Québec). The programme will include Éric Normand’s Musique de Bataille (featuring musicians Raphaël Arsenault, Isaiah Ceccarelli, James Darling and Catherine S Massicotte), Virgule (with Gordon M Allen and Esther B), the duo of Alexandre Grogg and Isaiah Ceccarelli, as well as Le Grand Groupe Régional d’Improvisation Libre.

The Trepanated Quintet, double bassist Nicolas Caloia’s newest group featuring Jean Derome, Guillaume Dostaler, Kenny Doolittle and Robert Kraft, will be in concert at L’envers in Montréal on November 27, 2008.

The Nicolas Bernier and Simon Trottier duo as well as Pierre-Yves Martel will be at Le Cagibi on Tuesday November 25, 2008 as part of the Mardi spaghetti weekly series for creative music.

Saxophonists Bertrand Denzler, Marc Baron and Jean-Luc Guionnet will be performing solo, but simultaneously, at the Souffle Continu in Paris on November 21, 2008.

Blube (Jean-François Blouin, Benoit Rolland) as well as Philippe Lauzier, Thom Gossage and Jean René will be at Le Cagibi on Tuesday November 8, 2008 as part of the Mardi spaghetti weekly series for creative music.

Following the release of Collection QB’s sixth volume, Arbor Vitæ, a homage to the Canadian-American composer James Tenney, Bozzini Quartet continues its busy schedule with eight concerts in Europe.
