Following the release of their first album, Portrait Montréal, the Bozzini Quartet continues its concert series and will be playing in Montréal on April 7, 2005 at the Chapelle Saint-Louis, at Trois-Rivières’ Maison de la culture on April 21, 2005, back again in Montréal at La Chapelle on April 28 and 29, 2005 and lastly in Jonquière on May 21, 2005 for the Festival des musiques de création.

Document 4 is the 4th project in Lynda Gaudreau’s Encyclopoedia suite and Martin Tétreault will be producing the live mix composition with 5 turntables. The work will be presented at the Kunstencentrum Vooruit in Gent (Belgium) on April 12 and 13, 2005 and will also be presented by Dans in Kortrijk for the ATTACK! festival on April 14, 2005 at the Limelight in Kortrijk (Belgium).

Guitar player Antoine Berthiaume will launch his second album, Leaves and Snows, at Mills College (Oakland, California) on April 4, 2005. This time, the young guitarist is surrounded by pianist Quentin SirJacq and sound engineer Norman Teale.

For the third installement of the Volapük concert series, Les Poules (the trio of Danielle Palardy Roger, Diane Labrosse and Joane Hétu) pairs up with three young innovative musicians, i8u, Magali Babin and Myléna Bergeron. The concert will be held at the O Patro Vys hall (Montréal) on April 28, 2005.

MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) presents inspiring East-West meetings on March 11 and 12, 2005 by bringing together talented musicians with an unusual variety of instruments in a never-before-experienced improvisational combo. Ganesh Anandan (percussions and voice), Ziya Tabassian (percussions), Martin Tétreault (turntables), Rainer Wiens (prepared guitar) and Kiya Tabassian (setar) each will draw from the strong tradition of musical improvisation within their culture to create a new and unusual sound.

Composer John Oswald presents the photo-videographic installation instand•stillness from February 24 to April 24, 2005 at Espace F gallery in Matane (Québec). The work is based on Oswald’s “chronophotic” technique, a cinema which aim is to convey an impression of animation to still images. This is the same technique Oswald used for his DVD-Video Arc d’apparition, released last year on the OHM / Avatar label.
