Many DAME musicians will play live at the next Festival des musiques de création du Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean in Jonquière (Québec). The duo of Danielle Palardy Roger and Fred Frith will give a concert on Friday May 19, 2006 at the Pierrette-Gaudreault hall. The François Bourassa, Jean Derome, and Pierre Tanguay trio will be give a concert on Saturday May 20, also at the Pierrette-Gaudreault hall. Lastly, L’Hexacorde and the {nbio:lauzier_ph} {nbio:perkin_mi} {nbio:kuster_ro} trio will give their concerts on Friday May 26 at the Café-théâtre Côté-Cour.

Canadian-Belgian filmmaker Jean Detheux is the special guest of the next Mercredimusics event, to be held on April 5, 2006 at Casa Obscura in Montréal. Musicians Jean Derome, Joane Hétu, Martin Tétreault, Diane Labrosse, and Pierre Tanguay will improvise musical soundtracks for his movies Liaisons, Rupture, Happening cinéma-musique, and Le Bleu-Plus.

Philippe Lauzier will soon give two concerts in Montréal: first at Utopik on Thursday April 13, 2006 and at Divan orange on Sunday April 23.

The abstract bluegrass of the band Les Queues de Veaux (Pierre Lavoie, dobro and Lap Steel guitar; René Lussier, guitars; Fred Fortin, bass; Claude Lavergne, drums; Martin Tétreault, turntables) will enkindle Le Va-et-Vient (Montréal) on April 1, 2006.

Pierre Cartier will present his song cycle Chansons de la belle espérance at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur (Montréal) on March 14, 2006.

Saxophonist/vocalist Joane Hétu’s latest work — Filature, a “sound theatre” in three acts — will be presented at Usine C (Montréal) on March 16, 17, and 18, 2006. Filature is a musical allegory on the materials weavers use: warp, weft and pattern. {nbio:hetu_jo} unveils creative fabrics of sound and visuals, where music, dance, video art and lighting intertwine.
