The eclectic radio show Délire musical rencently announced the list of 50 discs selected by its team for the year-end show. Two releases ranked well: Migration by Cordâme, and À l’école du ara by Frank Martel and Bernard Falaise. Listen to some audio clips online!

Six DAME albums are nominated for the 2009 Opus Prizes. Arbor Vitæ by the Bozzini Quartet and [cqb_0908] by Quasar are both nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Modern and Contemporary Musics” category. As for Live at Upstairs 2008 by Normand Guilbeault Ensemble is nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics” category. Y’a du bruit dans ma cabane by Ensemble SuperMusique and Pas de deux by Fred Frith and Danielle Palardy Roger are nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” Additionally, Confiture de Gagaku by Jean Derome is nominated for “Concert of the Year — actuelle and electroacoustic musics.” The 13th Opus Prize Gala will take place on January 31, 2010 at the Salle Claude-Champagne, Université de Montréal.

Three new Ambiances Magnétiques releases ranked well on Guelph’s CFRU charts. The new Self Made by Ganesh Anandan and Hans Reichel, and Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors by Rainer Wiens make the top two places. And finally, My 20th Century, by Tim Brady, ranked 7th.

The radio series “Simulcast 2.0: Sackville” will take place on July 28 - August 24, 2009 on CHMA 106.9 FM in Sackville (New Brunswick, Canada) and online (www.mta.ca/students/chma/listen.htm). Four Canadian sound and radio artists have been asked to provide a single sustaining sound to be broadcasted from 2am to 6am. 12:00 by Hélène Prévost will be presented during the first week. Compositions by Mario Gauthier (Transparences in six parts, one per night), i8u (Still Life), and Stéphane Claude (Waves Array) will follow, one per week, until the end of the series.
