Pointe-à-Callière presents the 15th edition of the Port Symphonies on March 1 and 8, 2009 (at 1:30 pm) with an new work by Bernard Falaise inspired by pirates, corsairs and bucaneers!

Three prestigious musique actuelle groups from Québec will present five concerts in British Columbia this March: Les Poules (Joane Hétu, Diane Labrosse, Danielle Palardy Roger), the Jean Derome and Pierre Tanguay duo and Ensemble SuperMusique.

Cordâme, featuring double bassist Jean Félix Mailloux, cellist Julie-Odile Gauthier-Morin, and violinist Marie Neige Lavigne, will be in concert at Le rendez-vous du thé in Montréal on February 27, 2009.

Two residencies will unite five trios from four different cities and two continents. On March 7, 2009, at Coop Paradis in Rimouski, an exceptional collaboration between Tour de Bras and the Centre d’expérimentation musicale will bring together three musicians from Saguenay and three from Rimouski. On March 13 and 14, always at Coop Paradis, the project Une règle de trois will explore the different possibilities offered by the meeting of three unique trios: SAP(e) from Montpellier, France (Aurélien Besnard, Guillaume Contré, Christophe Devaux), LLL from Montréal (Francis Rossignol, David Lafrance, Jean-François Lauda) et Wowowo trio from Rimouski (Robin Servant, Catherine S Massicotte, Éric Normand). Two concerts, two concepts.

For a second consecutive year the Fanfare Pourpour is in residence at Festival des 2 rives in Bordeaux (France) from February 8 to March 1, 2009. They will participate in a number of activities including the Festival’s ephemeral parade.

Marilyn Lerner (piano) and Diane Labrosse (sampler) will perform at Toronto’s Music Gallery on February 20, 2009.
