On May 13, 2007 two quartets will heat up the Divan orange: first, the Quatuor de vents (with Gordon M Allen, Jean Derome, Philippe Lauzier, and Frank Lozano); second, the quarteski does prokofiev ensemble (with Gordon M Allen, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Philippe Lauzier, and Pierre-Yves Martel). Joane Hétu will present her Filature project in which she mixes rock, minimalist music, improvisations with visual and scenic components. This lively artist will be on stage with the Ensemble SuperMusique (Mélanie Auclair, Guido Del Fabbro, Jean Derome, Claire Gignac, Normand Guilbeault, Diane Labrosse, Danielle Palardy Roger, Pierre Tanguay, Némo Venba), and visual artist Pierre Hébert. This concert will be presented on May 21, 2007 at cinéma Laurier in Victoriaville as part of the Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville (23 concerts of “musique actuelle” — detailed schedule on their website). The next Mercredimusics will present Jean Derome et les Dangereux Zhoms (Pierre Cartier, Jean Derome, Guillaume Dostaler, Pierre Tanguay, Tom Walsh) on May 2, 2007 at Casa Obscura in Montréal. Listen to them on Torticolis, Navré, Carnets de voyage.

Lori Freedman will tour Balkan Europe with Les Amis Ensemble (Lynn Kuo, Rachel Mercer, Marianna Humetska, Joseph Macerollo) under the direction of Michael Pepa. Les Amis Ensemble is a group of some of the most talented Canadian musicians. The ensemble performs contemporary as well as traditional chamber music.
