Tom Walsh (trombone, sampler) will play live with Matyas Sandai (bass) and Elemer Balazs (drums) on September 17, 2006 at the Budapest Jazz Festival, in Hungary.

Tom Walsh (voice, trombone), with his group composed of [lamm_da] (guitar), [horvathbarcza_jo] (bass), and [mohar_an] (drums), will be in concert on August 10, 2006 at the Jazz Stage of the Sziget Festival (Budapest, Hungary).

The 5th edition of the Open Ears Festival will be held from April 26 to May 1, 2005 in Kitchener, Ontario (Canada). Zeena Parkins, Ikue Mori, Hildegard Westerkamp, Anne Bourne, Tom Walsh and Pierre Tanguay are amongst the artists featured this year.

Tom Walsh and his Noma ensemble will tour Canada this summer. You will be able to catch them at Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville on May 23, Vancouver Jazz Festival (BC) on June 30, Jazz Festival Calgary (AB) on July 2, in Edmonton (AB) on July 4, at Festival international de jazz de Montréal (QC) on July 9 followed by St John’s Jazz Festival (NF) on July 10, and finally in Halifax (NS) on July 12, 2004. Also, don’t miss Tom Walsh’s second ensemble, Phat Hed, also on tour across Canada.

It is the time of the Year where award nominations are revealed and DAME musicians are harvesting plenty. Pierre Cartier («Dis, Blaise…»), Tim Brady (Unison Rituals), the {nbio:frith_fr}, {nbio:derome_je}, {nbio:tanguay_pi}, {nbio:boisen_my} quartet (All is bright…) and Lori Freedman (À un moment donné) all received nominations to the Opus Prizes, handed out yearly by the Conseil québécois de la musique (Québec Musical Council, CQM). Moreover, {nbio:freedman_lo} (clarinet), Pierre Tanguay (percussions), Tom Walsh (trombone) and Jean Derome (musician of the Year) are also nominated for the National Jazz Awards.
