A composer and sound designer, her musical aesthetic is rooted in a cinematic approach to integration that she calls cinemasonics. Roxanne Turcotte also creates and performs music for television, cinema, radio, the stage, the web, and circus arts, in addition to creating sound, music, and visual installations. She is frequently invited to serve on composition juries and conducts training sessions, lectures, and composition workshops.
