Laura Kavanaugh creates live audiovisual environments for on-location and online performances and installations. She works with constantly-evolving hardware/software systems that enable spontaneous mutation of physical and virtual image and sound sources.

As a solo artist and founding member of Instant Places she has presented work on location in Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, South America, the USA, and centres across Canada from Makkovik Labrador to Victoria (BC).

Among her recent projects are an audio commission and performance in Vienna for Kunstradio ORF, a performance residency with improvising dancers Company Blu in Florence, and weekly online collaborations with the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra.
