A multidisciplinary performance artist, Nathalie Derome’s work questions the codes of performance, the reality of make-believe and the linear nature of the narrative. She has needed to invent language — théâtre perforé (the perforated theatre) and théâtre en forme de femme (a theatre with a woman’s shape) — to describe her unique approach, which combines different media (theatre, poetry, dance, music and visual art) and a wide variety of performance types: staged epics, cabaret, multidisciplinary raffles, poetry improv, and parody-siacal songs.
