Part of L’OFF Jazz events in Rimouski (Québec), Martin Tétreault and his French guests Jean-Luc Guionnet and Pascal Battus will play at the Paralœil gallery in Rimouski on August 26, 2005 and at La Capitainerie in Matane on August 27, 2005.

This summer, many Canadians will be able to appreciate Jean Derome’s multiple talents. On July 1, 2005 the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay will play at the Vancouver Jazz Festival. This trip to the West Coast will be completed by an improvisation with 7 Vancouver musicians, followed by a trio with Paul Plimley and Pierre Tanguay, both on July 2. Afterwards, {nbio:derome_je} will play with Fanfare Pourpour in Sherbrooke on July 6. This is followed by a concert on July 8, 2005 at the Festival international de jazz de Montréal in trio with François Bourassa and Pierre Tanguay. Saturday July 9, {nbio:derome_je} and {nbio:tanguay_pi} will present their Plinc! Plonc! project at Québec’s Galerie Rouje, followed by a performance at the OFF festival d’été, this time with Frank Martel and Luc Bonin. A few days later, Fanfare Pourpour stops in Québec City for the Festival d’été, on July 15 and 16. Finally, the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay travels to the East Coast and will be in concert on July 20 at the Halifax Jazz Festival and July 23 at the Newfoundland Jazz Festival in St John’s.

Guitar player Antoine Berthiaume, who just released his second album (Leaves and Snows, with Quentin SirJacq and Norman Teale), will soon be touring Japan. {nbio:berthiaume_an} will play alongside Yuki Saga in Yokohama on July 12, 2005; with Ezaki Masafumi and Takashi Kojima in Osaka on July 15, 2005; with Takumi Seino in Kobe on July 18, 2005; with Haco, Tim Olive, Makoto Inada, Shinichi Isohata, Kou Iwata and Bunsho Nisikawa in Osaka on July 19, 2005; with the band Slow Children in Yokohama on July 21, 2005; and {nbio:berthiaume_an} will again play with Yuki Saga in Tokyo on July 26, 2005.

Ensemble en pièces, the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay, and Robert Marcel Lepage will be featured at the next International Jazz Festival in Ottawa: Ensemble en pièces will play on June 25, 2005, Robert Marcel Lepage on June 27, 2005 and the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay on June 28, 2005, all three at the National Arts Centre Studio.

For the next edition of the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival, the &records label will present a concert by Klaxon Gueule and Foodsoon at Casa del Popolo (Montréal) on June 5, 2005.

Pianist Lee Pui Ming will give a solo concert at Toronto’s Distillery Jazz Festival (Ontario) on May 27, 2005.
