The next Mercredimusics will feature Jean Derome, Robert Marcel Lepage Pierre-Yves Martel and Sébastien Trahan on December 3, 2008 at Casa Obscura in Montréal.

Martin Tétreault was invited to take part in AIM Toronto’s Interface Series. From December 4 to 6, 2008, you will have the opportunity to hear this internationally-renowned turntablist in solo setting, as well as in various formations featuring Toronto musicians.

Isaiah Ceccarelli, Pierre-Yves Martel and Évelyne Moser (France) as well as Jean Derome, Xarah Dion and Jean-Philippe Girard will be at Le Cagibi on Tuesday December 2, 2008 as part of the Mardi spaghetti weekly series for creative music.

On December 4, 2008, Bertrand Denzler and his saxophone quartet, featuring Marc Baron, Jean-Luc Guionnet and Stéphane Rives will be performing at the Festival Total Meeting in Tours (France).

After a huge success at the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival last summer, the Ratchet Orchestra will be in concert at the Jewish General Hospital in Montréal on December 1, 2008. The orchestra, who just released its first recording, features double bassist Nicolas Caloia as well as thirty of Montréal’s finest improvisers. Not to be missed!

The 7th edition of the Rencontres de musiques spontanées will take place on November 27 and 28, 2008 at Paradis in Rimouski (Québec). The programme will include Éric Normand’s Musique de Bataille (featuring musicians Raphaël Arsenault, Isaiah Ceccarelli, James Darling and Catherine S Massicotte), Virgule (with Gordon M Allen and Esther B), the duo of Alexandre Grogg and Isaiah Ceccarelli, as well as Le Grand Groupe Régional d’Improvisation Libre.
