The Fanfare Pourpour will launch a huge tour of the province of Québec from ,July 14 to 25, 2004,, a tour that will immerge populations into the sonorities of their latest album, Le bal. In full detail, the band will make stops at Sherbrooke’s Place de la cité on ,July 14,, at Bic’s Auberge du Vieux Bicois ,Juy 15,, at Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia’s municipal hall on ,July 17,, at Anse-à-Beaufils’ old factory on ,July 18,, at Saint-Siméon-de Bonaventure’s Chalet de l’Île on ,July 20,, at Gaspé’s Brise-bise on ,July 23,, the band will then take part to Mont-Louis’ Festival d’art indiscipliné de la Région de l’Est on ,July 24, and finally they will take part to Québec’s Fête du Faubourg on ,July 25,.

The Fibonacci Trio will premiere three new mixed by Laurie Radford, Cléo Palacio-Quintin, and Yannick Plamondon on May 20, 2004 at Redpath Hall in Montréal. Also on the programme: James Clark and Nicolas Gilbert.

For the Spring Fever Festival, improvised music trio Les Poules, featuring musicians Joane Hétu, Danielle Palardy Roger and Diane Labrosse, will play live at Halifax’s North Street Church (NS) Sunday ,May 16, 2004,. For the second half of the show, they will be joined by Janice Jackson, Suzanne Lemieux, Norman Adams and Paul Cram.

After a well received performance at Berlin’s Club Transmediale, Magali Babin and i8u’s alluring duo will rock the 5th Mutek festival on June 5, 2004 at SAT (Montréal).

Young cellist Mélanie Auclair will launch her very first album, Puce à l’oreille, ,May 19, 2004, at Montréal’s La Sala Rossa. On this occasion she will be joined by Charles Papasoff (saxophone), Bernard Falaise (electric guitar), Joane Hétu (voice) and many others.

The ensemble L’Hexacorde will launch its new recording on April 28, 2004 at O Patro Vys (Montréal).
