Voir dans le vent qui hurle les étoiles rire, et rire (l’un•e sans l’autre)
- Symon Henry

- Duration: 50:00
- Instrumentation: chamber ensemble
This piece is intended to offer a monument to the beauty of the world. It gives to hear the laughter of the stars, the howling of the wind, the exultation of the bodies; gives to feel the disquiet noise, the continuous flow of impurity ennobled by ivy. It wishes to celebrate the grandiose and intimate by subverting reality in the process. It also evokes the resonances of the poets who inspired it (Élise Turcotte, Marie Uguay.) The original version of this composition combined my music and that of composer Yannick Plamondon. This new version—following yet another series of fruitful conversations—was made possible thanks to the inventiveness, generosity and poetic intelligence of Danielle Palardy Roger (direction and arrangement) and Ensemble SuperMusique’s extraordinary instrumentalists. Danielle managed to transcend sound intimacy in order to convey the sweetness, tenderness and ecstatic howls of my graphic score. Finally, I would especially like to thank Joane Hétu who, together with Danielle Palardy Roger, has deeply believed in this project to the point of co-organizing its premiere and allowing it to keep on living through this recording.
