Expected virtuosity from The Unexpected

Monday, May 10, 2004 New releases

On The Unexpected One, what seems to be a first album by a new quartet is in fact the gathering of four virtuoso of improv. Ron Samworth and Dylan Van der Schyff are two well-known Vancouver musicians, frequently collaborating in bands such as Talking Pictures and the NOW Orchestra. Bernard Falaise and Pierre Tanguay have the same role in Montréal, having multiplied adventurous collaborations for years. On The Unexpected One you have no less than a powerful meeting between two guitars and two drums.
