Ratchet Orchestra
The Ratchet Orchestra has existed since the early 1990s when Caloia started experimenting with improvised “chamber jazz”. In 1998 the size of the band began to swell in preparation of a legendary birthday tribute to the inspirational SunRa. The orchestra has continued expand to 30 strong for the recording from their 2011 album Hemlock. In 2016 they put themselves at the service of music of Malcolm Goldstein to produce a record of his compositions for the label New York Mode. More
