January 31, 2010: Six DAME Nominees for the Opus Prizes
Six DAME albums are nominated for the 2009 Opus Prizes. Arbor Vitæ by the Bozzini Quartet and Miroir des vents by Quasar are both nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Modern and Contemporary Musics” category. As for Live at Upstairs 2008 by Normand Guilbeault Ensemble is nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics” category. Y’a du bruit dans ma cabane by Ensemble SuperMusique and Pas de deux by Fred Frith and Danielle Palardy Roger are nominated in the “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” Additionally, Confiture de Gagaku by Jean Derome is nominated for “Concert of the Year — actuelle and electroacoustic musics”. The 13th Opus Prize Gala will take place on January 31, 2010 at the Salle Claude-Champagne, Université de Montréal.
Bozzini Quartet is Critics’ Choice in Germany
On May 15, 2009 Bozzini Quartet was awarded the prize of German Record Critics’ Award: Quarterly Critics’ Choice for the disc Arbor Vitæ released on the label Collection QB in 2008. Arbor Vitæ pays homage to the Canadian-American composer James Tenney with performances of the complete quartets and quintets.

May 2, 2009: Final Concert of the Young Composers’ Workshop 2009, Montréal
On May 2, 2009 at 5pm, at the Chapelle Saint-Louis of the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, will be held the concert ending the young composers’ workshop where six young canadians worked with the Bozzini Quartet and two composers(Paul Frehner and Rodney Sharman). With featured works by Taylor Brook, Mirko Sablich, Margareta Jeric, Cassandra Miller, Daniel Brandes and Andrea Young.
