Marie Pelletier

Composer and librettist, Marie Pelletier, born in 1959, has written close to 100 works. She has been awarded several diplomas and masters the disciplines of both musical and dramatic writing. She has written more than a third of her repertoire for the human voice, in the largely neglected genre of “théâtre musical”. After winning the Ernest Bloch competition in Lugano (Switzerland) in 1994, with HAN n12, for string orchestra, her career was propelled to the nadir of what she laconically terms a very local, but comfortable popularity. In 1995, she wrote and premiered Bonheur Total, music for the play of the same name by Victor-Lévy Beaulieu. More
