Artists Wes Neal

Originally from Woodstock, New Brunswick, bassist Wes Neal graduated from St Francis Xavier University, and continued his bass studies in Boston at the New England Conservatory of Music. While there, he studied with jazz luminaries such as Jimmy Giuffre, George Russell, Cecil McBee and George Garzone. Years of cruise ship performances followed, embracing varied musical styles, Broadway revue shows to intimate dance music. Since moving to Toronto in 1998, Wes has shared the stage and recorded with many of Toronto’s finest performers in the jazz, singer/songwriter, and avant-garde communities. Wes has numerous CD appearances, radio and television spots, and can regularly be seen around town with Kevin Quain, the Whitney Smith Big Steam Band, and Ken Aldcroft.
