You are invited to one of Jean Derome’s Canot-camping (“Canoe Camping”) expeditions, each of them a musical composition for ensemble. A system of hand signs is used by {nbio:derome_je} to steer the musicians — and the public — into a beautiful and wild adventure. {nbio:derome_je} and the Ensemble SuperMusique awaits you on September 24 and 25, 2005 at the King Edward Pier in the Old Port of Montréal.

This summer, many Canadians will be able to appreciate Jean Derome’s multiple talents. On July 1, 2005 the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay will play at the Vancouver Jazz Festival. This trip to the West Coast will be completed by an improvisation with 7 Vancouver musicians, followed by a trio with Paul Plimley and Pierre Tanguay, both on July 2. Afterwards, {nbio:derome_je} will play with Fanfare Pourpour in Sherbrooke on July 6. This is followed by a concert on July 8, 2005 at the Festival international de jazz de Montréal in trio with François Bourassa and Pierre Tanguay. Saturday July 9, {nbio:derome_je} and {nbio:tanguay_pi} will present their Plinc! Plonc! project at Québec’s Galerie Rouje, followed by a performance at the OFF festival d’été, this time with Frank Martel and Luc Bonin. A few days later, Fanfare Pourpour stops in Québec City for the Festival d’été, on July 15 and 16. Finally, the Trio Derome Guilbeault Tanguay travels to the East Coast and will be in concert on July 20 at the Halifax Jazz Festival and July 23 at the Newfoundland Jazz Festival in St John’s.

March 8, 2005: Italian Tour by Nous perçons les oreilles

Nous perçons les oreilles, the duo of Jean Derome and Joane Hétu, will move its fierceness, energy and irreverence to Italy from March 1 — 8, 2005. The duo will give concerts and workshops with Gianni Lenoci in several Italian cities. The duo will give concerts at Bari’s La Taverna del Maltese on March 1, at Monopoly’s Chiesa Di San Pietro on March 2 and 3, at Rome’s Rialto on March 4, at Meldona’s Areasismica on March 5, and lastly at Venice’s Teatro Fondamenta Nuove on March 8.
