Raphaël Cendo

Raphaël Cendo studied composition, analysis and orchestration at the Paris Conservatoire and IRCAM. He counts Allain Gaussin, Brian Ferneyhough, Fausto Romitelli, and Philippe Manoury as his most important teachers. He has taught in France and Germany, and was in residence at the Villa Medici in Rome from 2009 to 2011. His music explores the concept of saturation, pushing the limits of the instrumentalist in “an excess of substance, energy, movement and timbre.” He lives in Berlin. More
